Estimator

The Estimator prepares bid for Division 8 (doors & hardware) on commercial projects based upon plans and specifications. This position contributes by maintaining the integrity of the company’s sales strategies and more.  The Estimator will collaborate with other estimators, detailers and project managers of the company to service customers of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure that company’s performance meets or exceeds standards under its contracts to its customers.
  • Reviews specifications and drawings (plans) to determine best course of action to establish a competitive bid within the sales strategy guidelines of the company.
  • Requests quotes from manufacturers in preparation of the bids
  • Prepares take offs for projects based upon plans & specs and within the sales strategy guidelines of the company
  • Follow and develop (with input from the Sales Team) processes and procedures to promptly bid projects
  • Tracks status (award) of bids until bid is released by customer
  • Makes all revisions necessary to bids until bid awarded by customer

Qualifications

Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager manages commercial projects awarded to company for Division 8 (doors & hardware), including the ordering, delivery and modifying of materials for the project in accordance with the requirements of the project. A Senior Project Manager also serves as a trainer and mentor for other project managers.  This position contributes by maintaining the integrity of the company’s customer service standards, managing the customer relationship while on the project, coordinating between the Sales Team, Logistics Team and the Accounting Team, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate company-wide to ensure that company’s performance meets or exceeds standards under its contracts to its customers.
  • Meet with the customer, estimator and detailer at the beginning of the job to set the strategy and understand the performance requirements of the project.
  • Attend regularly scheduled on-site job meetings with the customer.
  • Review submittals and initiate purchasing process according to the specifications and detailing report and project schedule.
  • Collaborate with customer to provide materials according to contract and customer schedule, including the management of all changes to the scope of work (e.g., quoting and processing all change orders)
  • Creating and managing all change orders in company computer system (Comsense)
  • Resolves discrepancies and jobsite issues as and when arise
  • Maintain well-documented project records in company computer system (e.g., electronic communications, change orders, approvals, etc.)

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience as a project manager in the door and hardware industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Senior Detailer

The Senior Detailer prepares detailed door and hardware schedules, shop drawings and submittals for bids awarded to company for Division 8 (doors & hardware) on commercial projects based upon plans and specifications, trains and mentors other detailers, and works as part of the customer service team. This position contributes by maintaining the integrity of the company’s sales strategies, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure that company’s performance meets or exceeds standards under its contracts to its customers.
  • Reviews the approved bids accepted by the customers, including specifications and drawings (plans) to determine the accuracy of quantities and pricing.
  • Prepares detailed door & hardware schedules, coordinates opening requirements as provided in plans & specs (as may be modified), prepares shop drawings and submittals using manufacturer catalog cuts to support product selection, and prepare elevation drawings.
  • Enters costs into to company’s computer system and compares to estimated pricing (bid)
  • Makes any and all adjustments to products and quantities to meet the requirements of plans & specs and code compliance
  • Makes all revisions necessary to shop drawings, schedules and submittals based upon customer direction and approval

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience as a detailer in the door and hardware industry
